Sevier County 4-H Clubs and Contests

Sevier County 4-H offers a variety of clubs to our youth! Information on our in-school and community clubs can be found below. Please contact Mrs. Sami at samialbright@utk.edu for more information on our clubs.

Please note that if school is canceled due to inclement weather, any 4-H event, club meeting, or workshop scheduled for that day is also canceled.

Eligible 4-H members include any student in 4th-12th grade. We are currently in all Sevier County 4th-6th grade classrooms on a monthly basis during school hours. Club meetings will be held in the months of  October, November, January, February, and March during the 2023-2024 school year. 

Homeschooled youth may attend our 4-H Homeschool Club meeting held monthly.  Eligible 4-H members include any student in 4th-12th grade. Club meetings will be held in September, October, November, December, January, February, and March during the school year. Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 2:00 pm at the Sevier County Extension Office. We also offer Honor Club to 7th-12th graders. To be a member of the Sevier County 4-H Honor Club, 4-Hers must apply and be accepted. This club meets from August to April on the fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 pm at the Sevier County Extension Office. If you are interested in becoming an Honor Club member, please contact Sami Albright (samialbright@utk.edu)!

This club is open to youth in 4th-12th grade. All experience levels are welcome! Non-riding activities include (but are not limited to): club meetings and events, horse bowl & hippology, horse judging, and speech & demonstration contests. Riding activities include; regional and state horse shows. This club meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm (September – March) at the Sevier County Extension Office. There is no cost to join this club and no formal registration! To join, all you have to do is show up to a meeting!

Sevier County 4-H Contests

Contests for the 2023-2024 year will include; Public Speaking, 4-H Posters, Essay/Design, and Photography/Videography. 4-H members are given information about contests during the club meetings and the rules are also posted below for parents and members to view at any time. We also encourage the members to participate in community service learning activities each month. These vary by month and details are given during club meetings each month.

  • Poster Contest
    • Posters will be due at January club meetings. Please check the calendar under the in-school clubs tab for when your child’s in-school club meeting is.
    • Posters can be submitted in physical or digital format.
  • Essay or Design Contest – Sponsored by Keep Sevier Beautiful
    • Essays or Design Projects will be due at February club meetings. Please check the calendar under the in-school clubs tab for when your child’s in-school club meeting is.
  • Photography and Videography Contest – Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pigeon Forge
    • Photos and Videos will be due at March club meetings. Please check the calendar under the in-school clubs tab for when your child’s in-school club meeting is.
  • Public Speaking Contest – Sponsored by Sevierville Sunrise Rotary Club
    • The club contest will be held at the November club meetings. Please check the calendar under the in-school clubs tab for when your child’s in-school club meeting is.
    • The county contest will be held on December 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Sevier County Court House. Grade winners will have the opportunity to go on and participate at the regional level.
    • To register, use the button to the right and register by December 1st at noon.

Secretaries and Service Learning Chairmen receive a physical book at the October meeting. Unfortunately, we can not provide an additional copy for every 4-Her. If your 4-Her misplaced their book, please contact a 4-H Agent for more information on your options.
