4-H County Contests

Contests for the 2025-2026 year will include; Public Speaking, 4-H Posters, Essay/Design, and Photography/Videography. 4-H members are given information about contests during the club meetings and the rules are also posted below for parents and members to view at any time. We also encourage the members to participate in community service learning activities each month. These vary by month and details are given during club meetings each month.

🎤 Sevier County 4-H Public Speaking Contest

The Sevier County 4-H Public Speaking Contest is a great opportunity for youth to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and showcase their talents while competing with other 4-H members from across the county!

🗣️ Contest Details

  • Date: Monday, December 16, 2025
  • Time: Contest begins at 6:00 p.m.
  • Location: Sevier County Courthouse
    (Participants should arrive by 5:30 p.m. to check in. Room locations will be posted at the Courthouse doors.)

🏆 Awards & Recognition

  • Competition is divided by grade level.
  • Ribbons will be presented to all participants.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top three speakers in each grade level.
  • First-place winners will receive:
    💵 A $25 check and a certificate for $100 off a trip to one of the following:
    • 2026 Junior 4-H Camp (Grades 4–6)
    • 2026 Junior High Camp (Grades 7–8)
    • 4-H Round-Up (Grades 9–12)
  • County winners will also be invited to represent Sevier County in the Regional 4-H Public Speaking Contest.

Participants must pre-register for the contest by December 1, 2025.

This event also counts as an outside event for the Golden Eagle Award! 🦅

🎨 Sevier County 4-H Poster Contest

Show off your creativity in the 2026 Sevier County 4-H Poster Contest!
This contest is a fun way for 4-H members to share what 4-H means to them while practicing design, communication, and artistic skills.

🖍️ Contest Theme

Posters should promote 4-H, encourage others to join, or highlight the impact of 4-H.
All posters must include the official 4-H emblem and follow design guidelines listed below.

📏 Poster Guidelines

  • Poster size: 14 x 22 inches (half a standard poster board)
  • Design horizontally
  • No glitter or 3-D objects that extend more than 1/8 inch
  • Nothing should cover or distort the 4-H clover
  • The stem of the clover must point to the right
  • Do not use copyrighted characters or images (e.g., Disney, Marvel, etc.)
  • Include the following on the back of your poster:
    • Student’s first & last name
    • School
    • Grade
    • Teacher’s name
    • Home address
    • Parent’s email address
      ⚠️ Posters missing this information will not be considered for judging.

Can’t make a physical poster? Enter digitally!

🏆 Awards & Recognition

  • Each participant receives a ribbon and club participation points
  • Winning posters from each school club advance to the county competition
  • Five county winners will each receive $25 cash prizes
  • Additional small prizes may be awarded (depending on funds)
  • Three county-winning posters will advance to the State 4-H Poster Contest

  • Posters (regular or digital) are due at your January 4-H Club Meeting
