Workshops and Outside Events

Our workshops are a fun way to learn new skills, meet new friends, and get involved in Sevier County 4-H! Unless otherwise noted, all workshops count as Golden Eagle Outside Event credit. Please note that registration fees are non-refundable, and scholarships are available for families who need financial assistance. This page will be updated throughout the year as new workshops are planned, so be sure to check back often. If you have any questions, please contact any 4-H agent we’re always happy to help!

Love warm, homemade biscuits? Join us for a fun and hands-on Biscuit Baking Workshop where youth in grades 4–8 will learn the basics of making delicious, flaky biscuits from scratch. Participants will measure, mix, knead, and bake their own biscuits while learning valuable kitchen skills they can use at home. Whether you’re a beginner or already enjoy baking, this workshop is sure to be a tasty experience!

Only 12 participants are allowed, so register early to secure your spot!

Calling all dog lovers! Join us for a fun and hands-on workshop where youth will mix, shape, and bake their own homemade dog treats to take home for their four-legged best friend. Participants will learn simple kitchen skills while creating healthy, tasty treats that their dogs are sure to love. It’s the paw-fect activity for kids who love animals!

Ever wondered how butter is made? Join us for a fun and hands-on Butter Making Workshop where youth in grades 4–8 will discover the science behind turning cream into butter! Participants will shake, mix, and create their own fresh butter while learning about dairy production and the history of butter making. Best of all, they’ll get to enjoy their homemade butter with a tasty snack!

Join us for a fun and interactive Public Speaking Workshop where youth will learn tips and techniques for organizing their thoughts, speaking with confidence, and delivering an engaging presentation. Whether you’re preparing for the Sevier County 4-H Public Speaking Contest or simply want to strengthen your communication skills, this workshop is a great place to start!

This workshop is completely FREE, but registration is encouraged to reserve your spot.

Join us for a fun and hands-on Sourdough Workshop where youth in grades 4–8 will learn the basics of creating and caring for a sourdough starter while making delicious homemade sourdough bread. Participants will explore the science behind fermentation, learn beginner-friendly baking techniques, and leave with the knowledge and confidence to continue their sourdough journey at home.

Get into the holiday spirit at our Gingerbread Workshop! This exciting two-day, hands-on workshop gives youth in grades 4–8 the opportunity to design, build, and decorate their very own gingerbread house. Participants will learn decorating techniques, express their creativity, and enjoy a festive holiday experience while creating a masterpiece to take home. Whether you’re a first-time builder or a gingerbread pro, this workshop is sure to be full of holiday fun!

Join us for a fun and hands-on workshop where youth will learn how birds and other wildlife survive the winter months while creating their own pinecone bird feeder to take home and hang in their backyard. It’s a great way to help local wildlife while learning about nature and conservation!
