Any 4-H’er who wants to shoot a compound or recurve bow will need to supply their own bow, arrows, and additional equipment. Sevier County 4-H has Genesis equipment available for use by team members. The athlete must supply compound and Recurve equipment.
Sevier County 4-H has Genesis bows available for 4-Hers to use! 4-Hers are welcome to use these for their first two or three years on the team. After this, we highly recommend that you purchase your bow! This will allow you more practice time and allow you to grow with your skills on your bow. If we do not have enough 4-H Genesis bows for all who request them, the use of 4-H bows will go to team members in their first two years on the team.
4-Hers who are in the 8th – 12th grade and compete in the Recurve and Compound division are eligible to compete for the minimum score to be invited to the State Archery Invitational. This opportunity is NOT available for Genesis divisions. The state invitational is how the national team is selected. More information can be found here: https://4h.tennessee.edu/shooting-sports/
If a 4-Her chooses to compete in the Recurve or Compound divisions, they will need to supply their bow. Information about bow requirements and restrictions can be found on the State 4-H Website under Archery Jamboree Rules: https://4h.tennessee.edu/shooting-sports/
