4-H Livestock Showing Project Groups

4-H offers a wide variety of projects on the county, regional, and state levels. Every 4-H member chooses a project to focus on during the school year in their 4-H club that can take them beyond the classroom if they wish.

For further details on completing project folders, visit our In-School Club page.

4-H Livestock Program: The 4-H Livestock Program consists of beef cattle, dairy cattle, goat, sheep, and swine projects. These projects will help 4-Hers learn about the selection, production, management, health, and showing of their respective animals. Special focus is given to the importance of record keeping for long-term success. As a part of their records, 4-Hers must identify goals for their involvement within the project area as well as with their farm management. 4-H members learn self-confidence through various project talks as well as animal shows.

4-H Livestock Judging Teams: The Sevier County 4-H Livestock Judging Teams are dedicated to learning about the various species of livestock through 4-H’s various livestock contests. Throughout the year, 4-Hers will be able to showcase their knowledge learned in project group meetings and practices through five individualized contests in addition to Skillathon competitions at regional and state livestock shows. 4-H members DO NOT have to show or own livestock to be a part of this group! See our Judging Teams page for more information.
