Fresh Plate

UT Extension’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences delivers research-based education across Tennessee to help families choose and prepare foods that lead to healthy eating patterns.

Join us each month for a Farmers Market Fresh Plate Summer Series, a live cooking demonstration series at the local Farmers Markets! This program highlights simple, delicious recipes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients you can find right at the market.

These demonstrations are offered for FREE to the public. If you see our booth, come talk to us and grab a sample and recipe.

Each month features:
• A new recipe using local produce
• Step-by-step demonstrations by UT Extension educators
• Tips for stretching your grocery budget
• Nutrition information and healthy cooking techniques
• Free samples (while supplies last!)

Whether you’re looking for creative ways to use your market finds or want to build confidence in the kitchen, Farmer’s Market Fresh offers something for everyone. Enjoy the sights, smells, and flavors of the market while learning how to make fresh food fast, easy, and fun.

Come watch, taste, and take home a recipe card to try yourself — all while supporting local farmers and fresh, healthy eating!
