4-H FCS

Do you have a 4th through 12th grader who is interested in cooking, health, family, money management, and more?

We offer multiple programs for our Sevier County youth. These programs provide teens and young adults the opportunity to learn life skills like you might have in your home economics class.

If you have any questions or would like to sign up your child, please contact the FCS Agent, Kaysie Adkins (kadkin17@utk.edu), or the 4-H Agent, Sami Albright (salbrig4@utk.edu).

You can also contact our office by calling 865-453-3695.

Afterschool Programs

Does your child want to learn about to food, family, health, money, and design?

Well, if they are in grades 4th through 12th, they are eligible to join our 4-H FCS Club.

We meet once a month to do fun activities that teach them life skills.

Here are the events planned for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • October | Boot Scoot Fundraiser – more details below…
  • November | Friendsgiving Potluck
  • December | Christmas Bake Off
  • February | Sublimation & Healthy Relationships
  • March | Thrifting Challenge
  • April | Organized Mass Chaos

We have a yearly Boot Scoot Fundraiser in October at the Misty Mountain Farms to kick off our first 4-H FCS Club Meeting. Anyone is welcome to attend!

Usually, we encourage a $10 donation for this event. You are welcome to donate more if you want to.

On the other hand, if you can’t donate anything at all, that’s okay. We don’t want the cost to be the reason that your child misses out on this event.

If you have an interested child, please call our office at 865-453-3695.

Have you ever made your piggy bank before?

If you have a child in Pre-K to 12th grade, they are eligible to compete in the piggy bank pageant.

We will be partnering with the libraries, Tennessee State Bank, and Keep Sevier Beautiful to promote positive life skills related to budgeting and saving money with your children.

If you have any more questions, contact the FCS Agent, Kaysie Adkins at 865-453-3695 or kadkin17@utk.edu
