Sevier County 4-H and FCS

Preparing youth for life through hands-on experiences.

Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual—but this club gets pretty close!

The 4-H FCS Club helps youth build the confidence and skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives. Through fun, hands-on activities, members learn practical skills while making friends and discovering new interests.

Whether we’re baking from scratch, designing creative projects, learning to sew, managing money, preparing for emergencies, or serving our community, every meeting helps youth become more independent and ready for whatever comes next.

Who Can Join?

Youth in grades 4–12 who enjoy learning by doing are welcome! No previous experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

Typical Club Activities

Every meeting is different! Past and future projects may include:

2026-2027 Meeting Schedule – All meetings take place 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the UT Extension Office located at 752 Old Knoxville Highway (unless otherwise noted).

  • October 14th – Upcycled Halloween Costumes
  • November 18th – Friendsgiving
  • December 9th – Secret Santa
  • January 13th – Five Oaks Tanger Outlet Mall
  • February 10th – Kindness Project
  • February 16th – Club Craft Day

Please note that if Sevier County Schools are canceled due to inclement weather, any 4-H event, club meeting, or workshop scheduled for that day is also canceled.


FCS Skill-A-Thon – Put Your Skills to the Test!

Are you ready to challenge your knowledge of Family and Consumer Sciences? The 4-H FCS Skill-A-Thon is a fun and competitive way to explore real-world skills in areas like:

Cooking & Food Safety
Sewing & Clothing
Interior Design
Problem Solving Scenarios

Participants will identify tools, techniques, and materials, and work as a team to solve FCS-related challenges.

👥 Who Can Join:
Open to all 6th–12th-grade 4-H members.

💲 Cost:
There is a $20 fee to join, which covers study materials and a team shirt.

📅 Practices Begin:
Spring 2026 — with the goal of preparing for the Eastern Region 4-H FCS Skill-A-Thon Contest in July.
