UT Extension Family and Consumer Sciences delivers consumer solutions that help Tennessee families spend, save, borrow, and protect their assets. We partner with local banks to provide the community with education that can help you better manage your money which will help you now and in the future.

Sevier County Saves Webinar Week: April 8th to the 11th

America Saves is a non-profit organization that uses behavioral economics and social marketing to motivate, encourage, and support everyday Americans to save money, reduce debt, build wealth, and create better financial habits.

UT Extension Sevier County plans to encourage individuals to do a financial check-in that allows them to get a clear view of their finances, set savings goals, and create a plan to achieve them.

To promote these practices in Sevier County, we will host a daily webinar (April 8th through the 11th) from 12:15 pm to 1 pm.

  • Monday, April 8th – Planning for the Unexpected by Adam Hopkins from UT Extension Sevier County
  • Tuesday, April 9th – Retirement by Justin Ball from RetireReadyTN
  • Wednesday, April 10th – Savings & Debt by Marc Robertson from SmartBank
  • Thursday, April 11th – Investments by Jonathan Johnson from Edward Jones Pigeon Forge

If you attend at least one of the programs listed above online, your name will be entered into a drawing for a Door Prize ($40 value) which includes a mug, t-shirt, two ice cream tokens, and two stickers from Cruze Farm Sevierville!

It’s Piggy Bank Time!!

We partner with the Sevier County Public Library to educate Sevier County students to create a piggy bank and learn the importance of saving money.

You can drop your bank off at any of these three family libraries in Sevierville, Kodak, and Seymour.

Please drop off your banks at one of these libraries between March 11th to the 22nd.

Local contestants will be judged on March 25th.

County winners and best-of-show will be entered into the Statewide Piggy Bank Pageant held each spring with winners being selected by both popular vote and by state specialists.

This is a NEW Program!

Each class will be based on a budget category topic such as clothing, groceries, toiletries, etc. Depending on the class you attend, we will provide you with information on the discounts, coupons, policies, and tips. It is our goal to use this program to help you save money and maximize your budget!
